Jazz on the Lake 2006

The local jazz festival here in Port Huron called Jazz on the Lake was originally started by piano player Bob Gibbs as a birthday party for his wife Maggie 24 years ago. He asked all of his musician friends to bring their instruments and set up in his back yard for the afternoon. Soon the popularity of the event grew that they had to move the venue over to the Edison Inn which sits right on the St. Clair river.

Sadly, Bob passed away just a couple months ago. This year, we dedicated the festival to his memory. We hope it continues on as it's a great way for folks to get together, play some music, and enjoy the summer.

It's nice to see folks again. I met Peggy Turner-Carr a couple years ago on a gig and fell in love with her voice. She's still got it.
